This protected area of 6088 ha stretches from Jouques to Orgon, along the Durance (the river separating the Vaucluse from the Bouches-du-Rhône).
Its landscapes are both natural and agricultural, with vast fields. One can see the massifs of the Luberon, the Alpilles (towards Orgon), Concors and Roques-Hautes (towards Peyrolles en Provence) while remaining flat along the wide, sometimes wild, bed of the Durance.
