A park with many faces
The Rives du Loup park covers an area of 55 hectares and offers a wide variety of landscapes.
To the west of the park, dark rocks, cliffs and steep gorges make up a wild and grandiose setting, which surprises the walker. Downstream, the valley widens and hosts on a flatter area: a mixed forest, of alluvial type.
Protected from the sun by a forest of elms, alders, hornbeams and laurels, the vegetation is abundant and surprising for the region. You can admire fragons (small hollies), which give bright red fruits (not edible). The ferns bear witness to the wet and shady nature of the area.
Many animals have also taken possession of the area. The Parc des Rives du Loup provides a habitat for a variety of species: badgers, wild boars, weasels, foxes, dormice cohabit with purple herons, kingfishers, tits.
