Start with the little streets of Gordes
Presence and delicacy… a charming unforgettable village in the Vaucluse
It overlooks the Calavon Valley in the Luberon, almost as if it was suspended in time, perched high on a rocky outcrop of the Monts de Vaucluse it almost seems to brush against the sky… Gordes belongs to the prestigious listing of the Plus Beaux Villages de France and charms all its visitors even from a distance. When you get to the foot of the village, you can wander through its little interwoven streets and climb up to the top. As you walk, the cobbled streets guide you between high buildings and trees and there you have the star of the show… After a browse around the shops and restaurants, visit the château which is a listed Historical Monument and L’église Saint Firmin whose bell-tower was once used as a watch tower to keep a close eye on the plain below. The two buildings stand tall as the great protectors of the town!
The fairy-tale atmosphere when Gordes is clothed in its cloak of snow is an absolute must: an awesome postcard effect for amateur photographers and influencers, this will not have escaped the notice of instagrammers this month. We really advise coming out of season.
