Mercantour National Park

At the top of the Gélas, which is over 3000 meters high, the Mediterranean Sea is only fifty kilometers away as the crow flies! The territory of the Park is located between the departments of Alpes-Maritimes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence: Ubaye, Tinée, Verdon, Var-Cians, Roya-Bévéra and Vésubie. Nature is also a great playground for vacationers: hiking, nature trails on horseback or by bike, climbing, swimming, water activities, sports trails in the trees… Every winter, the summits of the Mercantour regain their white mantle. The different valleys of the Park offer many activities such as downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog-sled excursions, snowmobiling, paragliding on skis… You can also go and discover a built heritage which is sometimes discovered by chance: windmills, fortifications, oratories, chapels…
