The Haute-Provence Geopark
The incredible geological wealth of Haute-Provence is protected and enhanced by UNESCO. The Geopark allows tourists to discover thousands of fossils, some of them 300 million years old, from this territory which rose from the sea when the Alps were formed. In particular, you can discover the Promenade Museum in Digne-les-Bains, the UNESCO Geopark of Haute-Provence museum interpretation centre, the ammonite slab in Digne-les-Bains, the ichthyosaur fossils in La Robine and the sirenian fossils in the Tabori ravine.
