The Verdon Natural Park

The UNESCO Geopark of Haute-Provence
The exceptional geological wealth of Haute-Provence is classified by UNESCO. The Geopark highlights the thousands of fossils, some of them 300 million years old, of this once sunken territory that rose up out of the sea during the formation of the Alps. Discover the Promenade Museum, in Digne-les-Bains, the ammonite slab, the ichthyosaur fossils of La Robine and the mermaid fossils.
