The Verdon Natural Park
In Haute-Provence, the landscapes of the Verdon were born from the union between the Verdon river, the limestone rock and the azure sky of Provence. The landscapes here are grandiose and wild: valleys with cultivated fields, clearings, forests, vertiginous valleys… The Park seduces lovers of outdoor activities. You can practice activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, via ferrata, climbing, tree climbing… The authentic villages bear witness to a very ancient human occupation. During your visits, admire wells, fountains, chapels, oratories, churches, bread ovens, historical mills, grain mills, dovecotes, irrigation canals, oppidums… Agropastoralism is perpetuated thanks to the work of producers driven by the love of their land. Village grocery stores and markets will introduce you to local flavors: gingerbread, honey, mountain cheese, lamb meat, market garden and farm produce, olives, olive oil, liqueurs, lavender…
