The Southern French Alps in winter
The winter sports resort of Pra Loup is located in Uvernet-Fours. Linked to the Val d’Allos resort, it offers within the Espace Lumière one of the most beautiful ski areas in the Southern French Alps. Mercantour National Park
At the top of the Gélas, 3143 meters high, the coast is only fifty kilometers away as the crow flies! The Parc du Mercantour extends over six valleys, straddling the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes. Discover the villages and landscapes of the Var, Verdon, Ubaye, Roya-Bévéra, Vésubie and Tinée valleys. Outdoor activities are numerous: hiking, Nordic walking, nature walks on horseback or by bike, canoeing, via ferrata, tree climbing… In winter, abundant snow covers the summits of the Mercantour, making the happiness of the amateurs of slips. You can practice a wide variety of winter activities such as downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoe hiking, cross-country skiing, dog-sled rides, fat biking… Men have been present on these lands for tens of thousands of years and have left us a cultural heritage of great richness: fortifications of the Maginot Line, wells, fountains, oratories, chapels, churches?
