Peillon is perched at an altitude of 376 meters in the Paillons Valley. Only 13 km as the crow flies from Nice, this medieval village in the hinterland welcomes you amidst wild and splendid landscapes.

In the heart of the hills of the Niçois hinterland, Peillon is the starting point for many hiking trails and paths ideal for mountain biking. There are numerous outdoor activities available in Peillon and the surrounding area: horseback riding, climbing, paragliding, golf, canyoning, via ferrata…

Local culinary specialties are a tourist attraction in their own right: socca, stuffed niçois vegetables, pissaladière, zucchini flower fritters, and ratatouille are some of the region’s iconic dishes. The valleys near Nice are also known for their production of olive oil and their vineyards.

The village of Peillon has preserved its medieval atmosphere. The narrow streets pass under vaulted passages called pountins, leading you to the top of the village to the Parish Church of Saint-Sauveur, also known as the Church of the Transfiguration, where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the surrounding landscapes. During your walk in the village and its surroundings, you can also discover numerous oratories and calvaries, the Saint-Roch Chapel, the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows, a stone Genoese bridge, an old olive mill… Don’t miss the Flaminius Raiberti Railway Museum, which can be visited by appointment.
