Serre-Chevalier, a skier’s paradise

Monêtier-les-Bains features a winter sports resort connected to the Serre-Chevalier ski area, one of the most renowned in the Southern Alps. Several hundred kilometers of slopes await skiing enthusiasts from around the world, and numerous activities are available nearby, including dog sledding.

The Serre-Chevalier Valley resort is divided into four areas: Briançon, Chantemerle (in the municipality of Saint-Chaffrey), Villeneuve (in the municipality of La Salle Les Alpes), and Monêtier-les-Bains.

The Écrins National Park

The Écrins National Park, with elevations ranging from 700 to 4,102 meters, showcases the diversity and biodiversity of the Alps. There are numerous outdoor activities to enjoy within the park, including hiking, road cycling, mountain biking, via ferrata, canyoning, kayaking, and canoeing.

For the most experienced athletes, you can also set your sights on conquering the highest peaks in the national park, such as Barre des Écrins. In winter, the Écrins massif becomes a playground for enthusiasts of alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, dog sledding, and snowshoeing.

Monêtier-les-Bains: A Mountain Spa Resort

In Monêtier-les-Bains, water springs year-round at a temperature of 44°C. The thermal waters that originate in the Guisane Valley are naturally rich in calcium, magnesium, iron, and minerals, and are renowned for their health benefits.

These thermal waters have been utilized for millennia, and in the 21st century, the Grand Baths of Monêtier continue this tradition. The establishment offers treatments, a spa area, and various aquatic activities for everyone, including children and adults.
