In the Argens plain, Les Arcs-sur-Argens boasts a lot of charm with its old stone houses and a medieval keep. The village is set amidst splendid landscapes, close to the Maures Massif and not far from the beaches of the Côte d’Azur.

A walk through the medieval district of Parage transports you to another era. The cobblestone streets wind under vaulted passages and open onto charming little squares. You can admire the 13th-century square keep, the remnants of the castle and its ramparts, or visit the Sainte Roseline Chapel during a stroll in the area. This place of worship houses the relics of the saint, who is still dearly loved by the locals.

Looking for a destination for a nature-filled vacation? You can explore the hiking trails of the Var, the Maures Massif, or the Côte d’Azur coastline. Many activities are also popular in Provence: cycling, mountain biking, paragliding, horseback riding, and tree climbing.

Provençal cuisine is a tourist attraction in its own right. During your vacation, treat yourself to a gourmet experience by visiting a local market to taste fruits and vegetables, sweets, and various other specialties produced in the region. Every Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, a market awaits you on the Place du Général Charles de Gaulle.

Escapades in the Var Hinterland

The Argens plain borders the Maures Massif. From Les Arcs-sur-Argens, you can easily explore the most beautiful villages of the Var by heading towards Draguignan and Provence Verte. The hills and wooded valleys create sublime landscapes, to be enjoyed in all seasons.
To the south, the Maures Massif also hosts charming villages. We particularly recommend visiting La Garde-Freinet, nestled in a green setting.

You can also follow the course of the Argens River down to Fréjus, which has preserved many beautiful ancient and medieval remains. The Roman city is also a popular seaside resort on the Côte d’Azur.

Museums Near Les Arcs

Several museums can be visited not far from Les Arcs-sur-Argens. You can head to Fréjus:

The Archaeological Museum of Fréjus showcases invaluable pieces unearthed during excavations in the region, recounting the ancient history of this territory.
The Marine Troops Museum of Fréjus narrates the epic story of the Marine Troops and displays nearly 4,500 objects.
The Artillery Museum of Draguignan delights both young and old with its cannons and artillery pieces.

In the town of Draguignan, the Museum of Fine Arts is housed in the former summer palace of the Bishop of Fréjus. It features collections of paintings from the 17th to the early 20th century, along with several curiosities.
