La Roque-sur-Pernes belonged to the Comtat Venaissin, a territory administered by the popes. Stretching essentially to the east of Avignon, from Valréas in the north to Cavaillon in the south, the Comtat is renowned for the beauty of its landscapes and its historical heritage.
