Le Pontet is just a few kilometres from Avignon. This small town is an ideal base for exploring Provence and the Comtat Venaissin.

Museums and monuments near Le Pontet

Le Pontet is ideally located for discovering numerous museums and monuments. For example, you can visit the Palais des Papes, the former residence of medieval pontiffs. You can also climb the Pont Saint-Bénézet, or admire the paintings at the Musée du Petit Palais.

The Comtat Venaissin is home to many picturesque villages, with well-preserved historic centers, beautiful old houses, and churches and chapels from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Visit Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue, Pernes-les-Fontaines or Monteux, for example.

From the Rhone Valley to Mont Ventoux

From Le Pontet, you can easily explore the Rhône Valley. What about a stopover in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a village renowned for its castle and its wines? At the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the villages of Vacqueyras and Gigondas are also renowned for their vineyards.

You can also head for Mont Ventoux, choosing the road from Bédoin to reach the summit past Chalet Reynard. At the summit, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Provence and the Alps for dozens of kilometers around.
