The city of 41 fountains

The village of Pernes-Les-Fontaines, located at the foot of Mont Ventoux, is famous for its many fountains. The oldest date from the 15th century, and many fountains were built in the 18th century. The Comtat Venaissin

Pernes-les-Fontaines was part of the Comtat Venaissin, a territory attached to the Papal States.
