On Papal soil
Richerenches belonged to the Comtat Venaissin, a territory in the heart of the Papal States. Including Avignon and extending mainly east of the Rhone Valley up to Mont-Ventoux, this territory is appreciated for the beauty of its landscapes and its strong identity, between terroir and heritage. Richerenches belongs more specifically to the enclave of the popes, a territory located in the Drôme but attached to the Vaucluse department.
