On papal land
Roaix was for a long time part of the Comtat Venaissin, territory belonging to the popes. Stretching essentially to the east of Avignon, from Bollène in the north to Bonnieux in the south, the Comtat is appreciated for the diversity of its landscapes and its historical heritage.
