For over 50 years, the annual Rencontres d’Arles photography festival has participated in transforming and disseminating the medium alongside great names in the field.

From early July to October, the public is invited to discover some forty exhibitions. They are presented in a variety of venues in the town, ranging from heritage sites - chapels, 12th-century cloisters, 19th-century industrial buildings - to contemporary and even unexpected settings. As a forum for exchange with creators, the festival invites artists and curators on the program to meet the public during exhibition visits, debates, conferences, book signings and portfolio readings.
