Discover Vauban's fortifications on snowshoes, accompanied by mountain guides from Terres de Trek and guide-lecturers from the Heritage Department.

After a walk through the forest, you will discover views of the Briançonnais landscape and the tracks left by wildlife in the snow.
Visit one of the major works of the 18th-century fortified barrier, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

RDV: Car park in the hamlet of Fontchristiane - near the Y - Briançon road
Car-pooling possible to the RDV point from Briançon centre, to be arranged directly with Terres de Trek.
Equipment provided: Snowshoes and poles. Please bring shoes suitable for snowshoe walking and warm clothing.
A minimum of 5 participants is required for tours.

Access

By car: From the Heritage Department, Cité Vauban, take avenue Baldenberger, then left to join avenue de la Libération and then avenue de la République. At the bottom of the hill, at the first roundabout, go straight ahead and at the next roundabout, turn left into Avenue du Général de Gaulle. At the next roundabout, turn left and left again at the end of the road, then immediately right at the roundabout towards the Col d'Izoard. Drive through the hamlet of Fontchristiane. A few hundred metres after the exit sign for the hamlet, take the road on the left, in the bend just before the waste centre.
Caution: reduced visibility, dangerous crossing. Continue on the road as it climbs through the fortifications. You will pass the entrance to Communication Y, you can park nearby.
