A workshop led by David Campbell, a sculptor and stonemason with 40 years’ experience.
For between 1 hour and 2 hours 30 minutes, with tools in hand, discover stone carving or sculpture with David Campbell.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced carver, you’ll be guided through various practical exercises to refine your technique when working with stone.
In an hour, you’ll learn about the tools and how to use them. You’ll feel the effect of the chisels on the stone and explore different angles of attack.
The ideal session lasts 2½ hours; the more you practise, the more you’ll master the craft. David observes and offers advice throughout the workshop, regardless of its duration.
You can take further classes depending on your motivation, your needs or if you’d like more guidance.
Tools and stone for the exercises are provided.
Maximum of three people at a time.
David Campbell holds a Master of Arts (MA) from the University of Provence in medieval archaeology within the Department of Art History.
