Discovering the craftsmanship of the Alpilles: Mélanie Cornu's glass workshop

Glass artist offering unique pieces in blown and cut glass, lampwork beads mounted in jewellery and traditional or ‘Tiffany’ style stained glass. The workshop also offers introductory courses in the ‘Tiffany’ stained glass technique. She designs pieces with pure shapes and a variety of enamel-based decorations, playing on the transparency of the material, the opacity and the satin effect of the glass. She sculpts and diamond-cuts the surface of the glass to create different patterns and decorations. In her Atelier-Boutique, you can see her using a blowtorch to create her own Murano crystal spun beads, which she then assembles into jewellery: bracelets, necklaces, earrings and long necklaces. These jewels, with their shimmering colours, combine elegance and modernity. She also designs traditional mirrors and stained-glass windows mounted with lead to order, and in the form of mobile, luminous tableaux. NEW: ‘Introductory workshops to Tiffany stained glass art, Mondays’ or other days available upon reservation. Times: mornings from 10am to 12.30pm/1pm and afternoons from 2.30pm to 5pm/5.30pm.
