The establishment has introduced water-saving showerheads and aerators, double-flow sanitary fittings, and by 2022 will have renewed all its showerheads in line with stringent flow-limiting standards, to ensure responsible management of water resources.
With regard to energy, the hotel systematically switches off the air conditioning in unoccupied rooms, closes one floor in winter, and optimizes occupancy management to avoid heating and air conditioning switching back and forth. Low-energy lighting, then LEDs, the extinction of signs from midnight to 6:30 a.m. and customer awareness campaigns (sensible use of air conditioning, closed windows) complete this approach.
L'Occitan is also taking action on waste reduction and the circular economy: sorting of glass, plastics and cardboard, sorting collection points for customers, a "Too Good To Go" account to limit food waste at breakfast, and replacing plastic toothbrush glasses with paper cups. The hotel has changed suppliers in favor of non-chemical cleaning products (central dilution unit, reusable bottles) and ecolabeled, vegan and ecopump hospitality products, in order to reduce individual packaging.
Finally, the establishment is structured around an ambitious accessibility project with the Tourisme Handicap label (adaptations for motor, auditory, mental and visual handicaps), training for all staff in water, energy and waste management, and the promotion of short circuits via local suppliers and a breakfast offer highlighting products from the region. This comprehensive approach makes L'Occitan a committed accommodation facility that reconciles customer comfort and respect for the environment.
