Open-air contemporary museums

A mosaic of art and vines…

A little way inland, a few kilometres from Aix-en-Provence, the 494-acre Château La Coste is an absolute must-do if you want to enjoy an arty walk in the vines of Provence. This vineyard has invited art into the heart of its ultra-modern winery signed by architect Tadao Ando, imagined and designed to blend harmoniously into the Château’s exceptional environment. Astonishment is around every corner here and you’ll need about two hours to explore the estate’s fields and vines dotted with larger-than-life artwork. Château La Coste‘s architecture boasts a golden hat trick of oenology, art and nature – living in perfect harmony. The mirror surfaces of the Château’s still waters reflect the surrounding hills, expansive bay windows capture the dazzling sunlight and all roads lead to new and stirring experiences to savour at your own pace…

Character-filled vineyards

A harmonious alliance of art and wines

A land of culture, Gigondas has welcomed artists from time immemorial… Nestling in an exceptional environment, this magnificent village is literally packed with history: after all, its first vines were planted by the Romans and its castle and its hospice were erected in medieval times. The sheer expanse of vines everywhere you look is a powerful source of inspiration. This remarkable architectural jewel gazes over the natural beauty of the Dentelles de Montmirail: a unique mountain range characterized by its ragged, lacy peaks. Art and wine flourish in these preserved highlands, and visitors are invited to embark on a quasi-mystical artistic experience in the shape of the Cheminement des Sculptures, a sculpture walk crossing semi-monumental works blending beautifully into the surrounding landscape.

A terroir fostering creativity
