Raid VTT Scott les Chemins du Soleil
This rally needs no introduction, held for 18 years and counting on the most beautiful single tracks of the Grande Traversée des Préalpes Provençales.
Postponed until 2021, from May 13-16, teams will compete in a 225-kilometre technical mountain bike route in three stages (more of a night session for some) reaching Buis-les-Baronnies, Sisteron and Montbrun-les-Bains from Gap to Mont Ventoux. This extraordinary challenge will be tackled by MTB riders from France and Europe who will face a total climb of more than 10,000 m in over three days through the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon and the Baronnies Provençales.
For an unforgettable mountain bike holiday, this event offers a ride package and a timed elite package, with all services included, like meals and luggage transport.
On the route of the Grande Traversée des Hautes-Alpes
Love cycling in the mountains? Mark your calendars for the Alps Epic! From August 21-26, 2020, you can choose from three race formats:
- the marathon race, 3 to 5 days, with 50 – 70 km stages to do solo or in pairs;
- the untimed ride, 3 to 5 days, open to eMTBs, with a short 30 – 50 km version or a long version identical to the race;
- the Enduro, which includes liaison sections and special timed stages, solo or in pairs.
During the Alps Epic, you’ll cross the most beautiful landscapes of the Hautes-Alpes including lakes and mountain pasture. Plus, you will explore the Patrias Nature Reserve, the Parc Naturel du Queyras, and a part of the Parc National des Écrins.
As for logistics, the organisers take care of everything: post-race meals cooked with local goods, washing and bike maintenance, and massage for all the participants. Added options include group or high-class accommodation, luggage transport, shuttles for riders, and more. LE TOUR DE FRANCE
The Grande Boucle in the Région Sud
The first 156-kilometre stage, favourable for sprinters, will traverse three routes in the hinterland of Nice. Don’t miss the finale that is planned to unfold at the legendary Promenade des Anglais.
The next day, the mountains will join the schedule for another 187-kilometre circuit (start/finish in Nice). Go to the Col de la Colmiane or the hairpins of Le Turini to savour the spectacle to the fullest.
Next, the riders will tackle the Route Napoléon to reach the citadel of Sisteron, a stage that will favour teams of sprinters.
Finally, on the menu of this 4th and final stage of the Tour de France in the Région Sud: the Massif du Dévoluy and the Bousensayes climb to Orcières-Merlette. Watching riders in this jaw-dropping setting, you will surely be wowed by the Hautes-Alpes. The traditional finish on Paris’ Champs Elysées will take place on September 20, 2020.
Le Roc d’Azur
The world’s biggest mountain bike event
With more than 20,000 participants over five days, Roc d’Azur is THE global event for mountain bike riders.
Amateur or professional, child or adult, cross or enduro, you’ll find the race that suits you. From October 7 – 11, 2020, the Roc d’Azur will host 27 different races (competition, trail, children, or electric) on the Base Nature François Léotard in Fréjus. And for the less athletic, enjoy the trade fair to the fullest where more than 300 exhibitors will welcome you.
