In 1644, the decision was made to build a new consular house. Four years later, Tarascon Hôtel de Ville was born (Louis XIII style). The façade was inspired by examples in Arles and has a corbelled stone balcony and a niche which houses the statue of Saint Martha with the Tarasque.
