The village of Cervières lies 10 kilometers from Briançon on the mythical Col d'Izoard road. In the 18th century, this large village had a population of almost 1,000. The main activities were agriculture, trade and weaving. The cheese, a type of blue cheese, was very famous and sold as far south as Piedmont in Italy. Unfortunately, a large part of the village burned down in September 1944 during the liberation of the region. Only one line of old houses survived the flames.
One of these houses houses the Maison Faure-Vincent Dubois.
