The Faure-Vincent Dubois House, Historical Monument, is a museum house. It is located in the village of Cervières and offers visitors a moment immersed in the daily life of mountain peasants in the heart of the 18th century.
The village of Cervières lies 10 kilometers from Briançon on the mythical Col d'Izoard road. In the 18th century, this large village had a population of almost 1,000. The main activities were agriculture, trade and weaving. The cheese, a type of blue cheese, was very famous and sold as far south as Piedmont in Italy. Unfortunately, a large part of the village burned down in September 1944 during the liberation of the region. Only one line of old houses survived the flames.
One of these houses houses the Maison Faure-Vincent Dubois.
Untouched since the 19th century, you'll experience an intense moment at the very heart of a farming family. Spread over 4 levels, you'll find all the tools, furniture and objects necessary for the harsh daily activities of the Cerveyrins of yesteryear...
In the off-season, tours are available for a minimum of 6 people; add 5 euros for each additional person.
For less than 6 people, the price is 30 euros.
