The former Burnett Park, transformed into an agricultural estate in the 20th century, is now part of Toulon's essential natural heritage.
Owned by the département for over 30 years, the Jardin du Las now bears the name of the coastal river that borders the estate.
Major redevelopment work has restructured the site into several plots, to make the most of the numerous Mediterranean and exotic species. As for the former manor house, it has been refurbished to house the Toulon and Var Museum of Natural History.
The path, punctuated by educational panels, leads to a vast meadow dominated by a majestic cedar tree, much admired by all visitors.
