The name Mallefougasse comes from the latin mala (bad) and focacia (fougasse, a seasoned flat bread) probably referring to a bad inn.
Located at the foot of the Lure Mountain, Mallefougasse is a village living at the rhythm of the seasons. Illuminated by nice sunny days, the pure shy is studded with stars at night. This small village is full of houses made of dry stones, narrow streets crossed by alleys, covered passages called "andrônes".
