Some of the rampart walls and fortified gates are still standing, as are some beautiful private mansions. This village has the particularity of possessing some Paleochristian sarcophagi. It also features the former family mansion of the Sade family (Château de Mazan, a 4-star hotel).
Surrounded by the Vaucluse Mountains to the south and by Mont-Ventoux, the giant of Provence, to the North, its land is crossed by the Auzon river.

Must-see:
The Portail Renaissance (1515) and countless ancient doors; the Château de Mazan (1730), former château of the Sade family, now transformed into a hotel; the Nécropole or ‘Alley of Sarcophagi’; many churches dating from the 11th to 17th centuries.

Must-do:
Concerts, dances and theatre at the Boiserie.
