Museum retracing the life of resistance fighter Jean Moulin, explaining his Provencal roots and his attachment to the village of Saint-Andiol.
The Jean Moulin Museum provides visitors with all the keys to understanding, in an interactive way, the journey of a life: a story born in Provence, before taking national and European paths, serving humanist ideals until the ultimate sacrifice.
This museum is an unprecedented dive into the life of Jean Moulin. Housed in a historic building that was once the town hall and primary school where Jean Moulin was a student, visitors can discover his Provençal and Saint-Andiol roots, his family, his childhood, his student years, his passion for drawing and painting, his role as a prefect, and his involvement in the resistance. With over 200 m2 of exhibitions, 200 rare photos, archives, period objects, and films, a cockpit of the plane that parachuted Jean Moulin over the Alpilles on January 2, 1942, has been reconstructed with realistic sound and visuals. It is a link between his life before the war and his involvement in the resistance. «Memories of my country» is how Jean Moulin referred to Saint-Andiol, the birthplace of his parents.
