Description
The gypseries (stucco plasterwork) of the Castle of Volonne are among the finest in Provence. They serve as a reminder of the local presence of gypsum, the raw material used to produce plaster. Both the vestibule and the grand staircase are remarkable for the exquisite plasterwork with which they are adorned.
