The Provencal Nativity as told by santons.

Initially rooted in the religious spirit, this Pastorale has gradually evolved into a unique cultural testimony to the evolution of the Provençal language. Among the many pastorales, Pierre Bellot's Pastorale, premiered in Toulon in 1854, stands out for its dynamism, choral and solo singing, and comic scenes. It features an anachronistic representation of the Nativity, offering a succession of entertaining episodes, eventually leading the characters to gather around the crib.
