Didactic concert at the end of the residency at the Monastery of Saorge around the re-creation of the Opera "La Magia Delusa" by Antonio Bertali, with the most beautiful extracts of the opera. You will discover the work of the musicians in front of an opera never played again...
This event is conceived as a presentation of the work of musicians faced with the re-creation of an opera.
The objective of the ensemble's residency will be to construct the opera project in its entirety: staging, vocal work, work on ornamentation, study of ancient rhetoric and gestures, contextualisation of the work and preparation of the critical edition.
Positioned alongside Monteverdi and Cavalli in addition to his reputation as a virtuoso violinist, Antonio Bertali (1605-1669) was a great promoter of opera in Vienna. Today his works (10 operas, several oratorios as well as an important body of instrumental music) are little known and even less performed.
The Magia Delusa, preserved in the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek, has not been performed since its premiere in 1660, and our team has discovered this and other manuscripts from the early period of Austrian opera.
Intended for all audiences, you will discover the work of the musicians in front of an opera never played again, but also the most beautiful arias of the opera: an appetizer of this project before the big performances in August!
Galel Sánchez, conductor - Océane Deweirder, soprano, director - Tanaquil Olliver, soprano
Tanaquil Olliver, soprano - Ariane Le Fournis, alto - Andrés Prunell Vulcano, bass - Luce Courcelles, ancient harp - Armin Yaldaei, harpsichord - Maud Sinda, baroque violin - Mathias Ferré and Iris Tocabens, violas da gamba
