Discovering France's only freshwater turtle species
The Marais du Vigueirat is home to a large population of the European pond turtle, the Cistude d'Europe. With a naturalist guide, along a shaded path, come and admire the turtle in its natural habitat, and learn more about this protected reptile.

Accompanied by a naturalist guide, you'll set off in search of the European Cistude on a shaded footpath less than 500m long, entirely on stilts, accessible to people with reduced mobility, wheelchairs and strollers. A ticket for this tour gives you access to all Starling trails for the rest of the day.
Don't forget to bring a picnic if you want to spend the day on site.
Bring a cap or hat, walking shoes or sneakers, sun cream, mosquito repellent and camera. Binoculars can be hired from the Marais du Vigueirat store.
