Paul Lanzky, an admirer of the philosopher's writings, has an appointment with the man he considers a master thinker. Nietzsche has invited him on a walk to discover the old town and the site of the former castle of Nice. Paul Lanzky, a prisoner of a pessimistic conception of existence, finds it difficult to surrender to the joy and life that Nietzsche claims. However, something calls to him in the prophetic words of Zarathustra.
He intends to decipher the work in the light of its author's explanations. A short-lived friendship develops along the way. The true face of Nietzsche is gradually revealed. The solitude, the physical sufferings that inhabit him, but also his taste for the simple foods of life. Paul Lanzky gradually learns to savour the experience of existence...
