Founded in 1982 by choreographer Alonzo King, LINES Ballet is a contemporary ballet company based in the United States. King combines classical technique with contemporary creation, offering original pieces that blend tradition and modernity.
The company regularly presents its creations on international tours, and offers training programs and access to dance for all.
"The Collective Agreement" originally commissioned by San Francisco Ballet in 2018, the piece gets a new look thanks to Alonzo King's reinterpretation and an innovative light installation by artist Jim F. Ingalls. The intimacy of the duets and ensembles echoes the progressive rhythms of composer Jason Moran's score.
"Ode to Alice Coltrane": the piece pays tribute to the legendary spiritual leader, composer, pianist and harpist.
