"Passion Rachmaninov" at 7pm on Saturday 21 October at the Alpilium!
To remind us that music knows no borders, our Passion concert will feature a composer of Russian origin and a baritone of Ukrainian origin.
As a composer, Rachmaninov is considered to be one of the last great exponents of Romanticism in Russian classical music. To perform his works, which are often little known in France, we have the Franco-Ukrainian baritone Volodymyr Kapshuk, winner of international competitions, the Cercle Carpeaux's Prix lyriques and the Association pour le rayonnement de l'Opéra national de Paris. Among other things, he has set up highly innovative teaching programmes for the Académie de l'Opéra de Paris.
We will also have the pleasure of discovering the musical life of Rachmaninov with Alphonse Cemin, pianist and conductor, one of the founding members of the orchestra "Le Balcon", and Guillaume Effler on cello, a virtuoso and renowned performer.
