Objective of the sale: To develop the schooling of underprivileged children but also to improve access to healthcare for families without resources in the Big Island (Madagascar).
The Association "Sekolin'Ny Masoandro- les Ecoles du Soleil" was created on May 13, 2003 following a three-year stay in "la Grande Ile - Madagascar" of the President where her husband, a naval officer, was posted as part of the military cooperation.
With my husband we travelled all over the island, listened to the history of the country and shared the daily life of Malagasy families as well as the political events in 2002.
This allowed us to discover the harsh reality that the Malagasy people face every day. We could not remain insensitive to the poverty of children living in the streets of the capital in rags and without any hygiene. So, we appealed to the generosity of our friends from France and Reunion Island to help us and bring them a modest contribution, certainly, but so useful!
Upon our return, all these emotions were shared with our friends and colleagues and this is how we decided to create this Association. "Sekolin' Ny Masoandro - Schools of the Sun" was founded on May 13, 2003 and adopted the motto "the important thing is to give without expecting anything in return".
When we started this great adventure eleven years ago, we could not imagine the path we would take in such a short time. Our strength is love, our temerity is to convince and our abnegation is to offer without asking. We have dreamed so hard of a better world that today this dream is a reality for all those who participate in the action of our Association, but also for the hundreds of children who have found their way back to school.
We are convinced that the involvement of the members of the Association in our action with the poorest will give this happiness to see these children at the end of the world smile at life but especially at their future. To carry out this action, we need your presence and your support; you are the engine of our commitment.
One day, at the end of this beautiful adventure, we hope that a young Madagascan will say to us: "you have made my dream come true, that of being worthy of giving an honorable life to my family".
The Association, carried by the pugnacious conviction of its six founders, gathers today more than six hundred and fifty members spread all over France, but also abroad, seduced by this noble objective and by its motto.
