The 2024 edition brings together 41 galleries, 16 publishers and 1 independent space, presenting some 100 artists, plus guest artists and designers from the Prix Région Sud, with selections by Francesco Tenaglia for art and Ghassan Salameh for design.
The selection remains as international as ever, with 15 countries represented. As in previous editions, this year's selection highlights the youngest artists, giving very young galleries the opportunity to exhibit ambitious and radical curatorial projects, and to offer the public discoveries that, in some cases, will be found at major contemporary art events.
Art-o-rama is the highlight of the autumn contemporary art season, making Marseille the place to be for art lovers and professionals alike. The show features exhibitions spread over 4,000 m2 of space, in addition to those already on display at Triangle-Astérides: Hymne aux Murènes and Le prix du ticket, and at the École des Beaux-Arts de Marseille: Campus Panic.
In addition to the exhibition spaces, Art-o-rama offers free access to a range of events. Discussions on the place of women in the art world, both historically, with Anaïd Demir and the presentation of her book Les Suffragettes de l'art, and from a contemporary perspective with the anthology Some of Us, edited by Jérôme Cotinet-Alphaize and Marianne Derrien. The program also includes a series of screenings and round-table discussions on the films of Jean-Luc Godard and his links with contemporary art.
