For the February vacations, the Museon Arlaten is offering a series of workshops on building carnival masks, on the theme "Beast heads, party heads", for children aged 6 to 10.
From the famous Nice Carnival, with its spectacular floats and Battle of the Flowers, to the traditional festivities of Marseille and the villages of Provence, carnivals are rooted in the heritage of Provence. From Venetian masks and traditions to colorful parades through the streets of towns and villages, these winter celebrations perpetuate a rich cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from the region's monsters, places and riches.
Children will first perform ́ ̂ accompanied by a mediator. Then using prefabricated masks, paint, feathers, pompons, and recovered materials; ́ ́ ́ .
The afternoon will end with a snack!
