"Ah, if only I had money, lots of it!" dreams Charlotte. Since her parents don't seem willing to give her any, she decides to do something about it and sets out to conquer her fortune. By turns schoolbag carrier, journalist, sandwich seller and poet, Charlotte spares no effort or imagination. But when you're "only" eight years old, it's not easy to be taken seriously. It's just not fair!
