Show jumping consists of completing a course of obstacles without faults, meaning within the allotted time, without knocking down any rails, and without refusals or run-outs in front of a jump.
These events aim to demonstrate the pony’s or horse’s boldness, power, agility, speed, and respect for the obstacles, as well as the rider’s quality of horsemanship.
