Mehdi Krüger:
Poet-performer Mehdi Krüger, of German and Algerian origin, mixes a stormy, sensual language inspired by René Char and Kendrick Lamar. His "peau-ésie" comes to life orally, and although he has published a number of award-winning works, the stage remains his preferred terrain. In duet with the blues guitars of Ostax, their music evokes an aerial metro, moving from underground sounds to bright lights. A committed artivist, Mehdi also runs writing workshops for French Institutes, as well as in schools and prisons. www.youtube.com/channel/UCCoYzSBsPJkcE0yyfQLIRVQ
Nicolas Bacchus:
For the past 25 years and 6 albums, Nicolas Bacchus, neo-liberal singer of "chanson qui touche les bords" (songs that touch the edges), has been scratching at self-righteousness and telling us tales of sulphurous love, between jubilant provocation, poetry on the edge and potty wordplay. www.youtube.com/channel/UCHFQHughk_QfTb87gVUYbYA
