The association "Musique Sacrée et Orgue en Avignon" (Sacred Music and Organ in Avignon) has partnered with the Festival d'Avignon since 1967. It proposes a cycle of organ concerts and sacred music concerts which feature historical instruments from Avignon and the surrounding area.
This is a true festival of sacred music, original in its style and conception, in keeping with Jean Vilar's philosophy of openness and dialogue, research, welcoming young artists and reaching out to a popular audience.
The concerts on offer bring the variety of sites and the beauty of the historical heritage that houses these instruments to a wide audience.
This year's event takes place from July 05 to 19 in a number of towns and villages.
