The exhibition "Une collection dans tous ses états acte II" (A collection in all its states) opened at the Bastion since 28 January 2023 will be extended until 19 June 2023.
Exhibition of works from the Jean Cocteau Museum's collection recently restored.
Exhibition of works from the Jean Cocteau Museum's collection recently restored.
While the first act of the exhibition presented, last year, the saved and restored works (drawings, photographs, ceramics, mixed media and paintings), this second act will be the occasion to discover new works from the collection recently returned from restoration (posters, pastels, new batches of photographs and drawings).
The display becomes thematic: Jean Cocteau's Mediterranean drawings from the 1950s to 1960s will be installed on the ground floor of the Bastion. The first floor will be devoted to the museum's Sarah Bernhardt collection to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the great tragedienne's death. Jean Cocteau's film posters will be displayed alongside photographs of the artist's portraits.
The tour will include more than seventy pieces, with many didactic explanations on the various restoration methods.
