Dora Freyssinet, a watercolourist, Annie Bene, a photographer, and Jean-François Bene, a painter, present their vision of the mythical mountain, La Reine Meije, at the museum.
Is it still necessary to talk about or promote this mountain? It has always attracted and fascinated. It has been photographed, painted, written about and hiked from all sides. It is the majestic queen of the Oisans, the dream of every mountaineer, and holds a very special place at the heart of our imagination and the mountain imagination. There's no escaping her attraction. Close to our workshops, it shines like a magnet. An inexhaustible source of inspiration, it has become the main character of a joint project.
But why 80 faces?
80 faces: A daring gamble motivated by a lifelong fascination with this mythical peak, with the aim of each of us creating 80 works depicting it.
80 faces: Through four booklets inserted in a boxed set, one booklet for each artist, and a booklet devoted to some of the writings of the best specialists on this mountain.
80 visages : To pay tribute to Paul Cézanne, who also produced 80 paintings of his favourite mountain, Mont Sainte Victoire.
80 visages : To pay tribute to all those who devote their lives to helping people discover the mountain, to preserving it, to safeguarding the freedom it inspires, to protecting it with reason.
