La Banque, musée des Cultures et du Paysage in Hyères, welcomes painter Pascal Vinardel for an exhibition entitled "Terra Incognita".
Through a selection of 67 works (oils on canvas and washes), the "Terra Incognita" exhibition offers an immersion into the mysterious work of this contemporary painter .
Echoing the quote by the great playwright Anton Chekhov, "Life must be shown not as it is, nor as it should be, but as it appears to us in a dream", such are the paintings of Pascal Vinardel: familiar and distant landscapes as if from a collective memory, whose untraceable places are not located on any known map .
Visitors will be led to become explorers of an interior continent made of dawns and twilights ,where time seems suspended in a spell of golden light ⚡️, which transmutes into the ochre of the land, the blue of the seas and sky , and the subtle green of the vegetation .
These paintings, as the last testimony of a lost paradise, are to be discovered from Saturday January 20 to Sunday May 19, 2024.
