This is an encounter with a community of Chechen women living in the Beauregard district of Gap and two women artists living in Briançon. A meeting of cultures and practices. Going towards... and letting yourself be carried away. From summer 2021 to summer 2022, Clémence Passot and Roxane Jaillet met with Aminat, Rupy, Milana, Madina and Lamset once a month. As the exchanges progressed, spaces for dialogue and plastic experimentation were created around themes linked to femininity, maternity, independence, the relationship to the body, and the links between men and women.
From these meetings, Clémence and Roxane created images using several processes: firstly drawing, then photography, and finally the exploration of techniques linked to textiles: hanging, patchwork, embroidery.
