Faced with illusions, what do you trust?
FakeDoing FakeSeeing is an original format that invites the audience on a magical and interactive journey. Three magicians specializing in deception and mental manipulation explore the tools that transmit information to us and shape our perception of the world: our senses, our phone cameras, our connected devices...
THE INTENTION
While magic evokes wondrous and utopian worlds in the collective imagination, the tools used to create miracles are less appealing: lies, which are at the heart of this art; knowledge of how the human brain works in order to exploit its weaknesses; mastery of rhetoric to influence; misdirection; the use of digital technologies to create "false realities," and so on. In my work, I like magical effects to open philosophical, political, and critical doors, without, of course, denying the exhilaration that this popular art form can create. I dream of a magic that awakens us rather than lulls us to sleep.
