The play tackles the themes of love and politics, highlighting the consequences of the UK's decision to leave the European Union on personal relationships. The characters face difficult choices and internal conflicts as they struggle to maintain their love despite the divisions caused by the Brexit.
The author, Michael Sadler, is an Englishman living in France who loves words and poetry. His play tells the story of two English expatriates in France, Angela and Steven, who live in the Touraine countryside. Their tranquility is disrupted when they meet their new French neighbors, Lola and Philippe. Through them, he addresses themes of nationality, identity and belonging, and explores the emotional impact of political history on individuals. It is about difference with humor and derision, and about the couple and its differences with lightness.
A declaration of love to France and a delicious moment to share with a quartet endearing to wish
